Living in Lockdown as a Bride to Be

If you’re reading this, you’re probably in the same position as me: you’re a bride to be in 2020 and your dream wedding is at a high risk of being postponed or cancelled.

Or… it may already have been!

If it’s any of the above, I am completely feeling your pain right now.

Two years I’ve been planning my wedding (31st July 2020) and I can’t believe that, during the crucial months of planning, we’re on lockdown because of COVID-19.

Now, like me, you’re probably sick to the back teeth of hearing about the virus. And… like me, you’re probably feeling guilty for being frustrated about your wedding plans being affected when there are people who are going through much worse, either themselves or with their families.

But I’ve come to realise that it’s OK to feel mad, frustrated, angry or whatever emotion it is that we are feeling. Yes, weddings can be postponed but it’s going to be just as much hassle rearranging venues and suppliers as it was booking them in the first place. Deposits may be lost and suppliers may not be available for later dates and that is just soooo frustrating.

So, I wanted to create this blog as a safe place for people to vent about their experiences and frustrations. We are in this together, guys and gals. Whatever you’re thinking, someone else is probably thinking the same – and someone may be able to offer a solution.

Anyway, you’re welcome to join me to vent, to stress, to laugh, to cry, and to just share this surreal, unprecedented time together.

No other brides and grooms will have experienced what we have and it will be a tale to tell the Grandkids when we are older and basking in the outdoors, whatever the weather, because we bloody well can!

Much love!
Stay safe!!

Loula Belle xoxo
